Alice Footitt

BA (Hons) Music Production and Performance

From age 3 I have been playing the piano. Starting out by playing by ear, I began formal Piano lessons at age 7. It took my parents a bit more convincing to let me learn the drums but thankfully in my early teens, they obliged!

Singing and songwriting has always been a passion of mine, and in recent years I was able to start a career doing so with opportunities I found during my degree. With my first musical release, I managed to achieve a number 7 position in Music Week’s Commercial Pop Club Chart - one of the UK’s most prestigious club charts. I believe my keen interest and success in dance music and music production combined with my previous classical training allows me to give a well-rounded, fresh and modern perspective to music tuition, and show an example of where music lessons can lead.

I find so much joy in music. Whether it be listening, creating, learning or playing. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from a young age and feel this is a huge part of my identity to this day. I’m enjoying passing on this passion to the next generation of musicians, and hope to inspire their confidence, help them see their potential, and ensure they know the importance of music.
